Harpeth Wings Meetings

COY plaqueWe meet on the 4th Saturday of the month at Shoney’s, 1306 Murfreesboro Road (TN 96), Franklin. That's just west of I-65 at Exit 65. We eat breakfast starting at 9:00 a.m. followed by our meeting at 10:00 a.m., then we often enjoy a chapter ride. Newcomers are always welcome, even if you have some other bike. You need not be a member of GWRRA to attend, but we hope you will join us at some point.

On May 31st four members visited Chapter A in Hermitage, but captured no plaques.

Four members attended ARC training in Clarksville on June 11th, which felt like the hottest day of the year. At one point the range temperature hit 117°! Instructors provided cold water and shade, plus lots of breaks. In spite of the intense heat riders and co-riders agreed that the course was well worth the trip and heat. We all felt we had improved our skills as riders and co-riders at the end of the course, and would recommend it to all members. After supper in air-conditioning we took the scenic route home.

On June 18th our COY visited Chapter Y in Murfreesboro but captured no plaques. After the meeting they continued on to the RC Cola - Moon Pie Fest in Bell Buckle.

At our meetingon June 25th we discussed braking and a great video on Braking: Myth vs Fact. After our meeting eight members and friends rode to Lynchberg where we enjoyed lunch and a visit to the Diamond Gusset store. The ride back was cooler as the sun sank a bit lower in the sky. As always it was an enjoyable ride with friends.

Our next meeting is scheduled for July 23rd. Hope to see you there!
